COLONEL Lewis, Scott J

Colonel Scott J. Lewis enlisted into the Naval Reserve in 1989 as an Anti-Submarine Warfare Operator with the Master Augment Unit at the Naval Air Station in Brunswick, Maine. Later he reclassified as a Utilitiesman with the Seabees in the Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 27 at Brunswick and remained with that unit until 1997.
In 1998, Colonel Lewis enlisted into the National Guard and attended OCS at Center Strafford, New Hampshire. Once commissioned in 1999, Colonel Lewis joined Bravo Company of the 133rd Engineer Battalion (Cbt)(Hvy) in Westbrook and Saco, Maine. While serving in B/133rd EN BN he served as a Vertical and Horizontal Platoon Leader and as Company Executive Officer when deployed to Iraq from 2003 to 2004. Colonel Lewis later served as the 133rd EN BN Training Officer and 262nd Engineer Company Commander from 2007 to 2009. Colonel Lewis served as the State Partnership Program Director from 2010 to 2012.
In 2012 Colonel Lewis was assigned as the 133rd EN BN Administrative Officer / Executive Officer and deployed to Afghanistan from 2013 to 2014. Upon return he served as the 52 Troop Command Assistant S3 from 2014 to 2016 followed by Administrative Officer / Deputy Commander from 2016 to 2018. In 2018 he was assigned to the Deputy G1 position at JFHQ and while in this position also commanded the 133rd Engineer Battalion from 2019 to 2020 and was subsequently assigned to serve as the G1 for JFHQ.
Colonel Lewis currently serves as the Chief of Staff for the Maine Army National Guard. He is responsible for oversight of full-time personnel programs and facilitates the development of short- and long-range plans that helps to determine state ARNG program goals.
Colonel Lewis is married and lives with his wife and two children in Monmouth, Maine.
