Proposed Development of Training Assets at the Woodville Training Site
Interested parties are invited to review and provide comment on the Environmental Assessment (EA) and a draft Finding of No Significant Impact (FNSI) in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) of 1969, the Council on Environmental Quality regulations for implementing the procedural provisions of the National Environmental Policy Act (40 CFR 1500-1508) and the Environmental Analysis of Army Actions (32 CFR 651).
The Proposed Action: The MEARNG proposes to develop, operate and maintain a 13.9-acres Light Demolition Range (LDR); a 2.3-acre 25-meter rifle range; renovate and expand approximately 8 miles roadway totaling 30.9 acres; conduct Army aviation flight operations; and build 20.5 acres bivouac (campsite) and equipment staging and parking areas at the Woodville Training Site in order to host battalion-level (approximately 640 Soldiers) training and qualification on all assigned small arms weapon systems. The EA evaluated the potential environmental impacts associated with the construction and operation of these facilities.

Public Review: The EA and the draft FNSI will undergo a 15-day public comment period from May 13, 2020 through May 28, 2020 in accordance with 32 CFR Part 651.14, Environmental Analysis of Army Actions.
