COMMAND SERGEANT MAJOR BRIAN D. DILL

Command Sergeant Major, Maine Army National Guard

 

CSM Dill joined the Maine Army National Guard as a Combat Medic in the 314th Ground Ambulance Company stationed in Millinocket, Maine in March 1988.  He served as a medic for 8 years as a traditional M-Day Soldier.  During that time, CSM Dill earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Maine at Presque Isle in Health, Physical Education and Recreation with a double minor in Athletic Training and Nutrition.  Upon graduating from UMPI, he taught school for three years at Southern Aroostook Community School and was active in coaching three sports.  In October 1995, CSM Dill was hired as a full time employee of the Maine Army National Guard as an Admin NCO, in Company B, 133rd Engineer Battalion stationed in Westbrook, Maine.  As an Engineer, he acquired two additional military occupational skills, one as a Carpentry/Masonry Sergeant and the other as a Heavy Equipment Operator.  CSM Dill has held positions as an Admin NCO, Training NCO, Detachment Readiness NCO, and Readiness NCO within two different companies within the Battalion.   In 2003, he was mobilized with Company B 133rd Engineer Battalion in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and was deployed from January 2004 to February 2005.  After returning from deployment, CSM Dill was transferred to the 133d Engineer Battalion in Gardiner, Maine to assume the duties of the Battalion Operations Sergeant.  In July 2008, CSM Dill transferred back to Westbrook as the First Sergeant for the 262nd Engineer Company, Horizontal.   Upon completing his command tour as a First Sergeant, CSM Dill transferred to the 240th Regiment, Regional Training Institute, in Bangor, Maine as the Quality Assurance NCO and full time Operations NCO.  CSM Dill graduated from the United States Sergeant Major Academy, in March 2013.  On 01 July 2013, CSM Dill was selected and assumed the duties as the 52nd Troop Command, Brigade Chief Operations NCO in Augusta.  In November 2014, CSM Dill assumed the additional duties and responsibilities of the 133rd Engineer Battalion Command Sergeant Major. CSM Dill served as the 133rd Command Sergeant Major in Brunswick, Maine until January 2017, when he moved back to Augusta to the 52nd Troop Command, Command Sergeant Major position.  In May 2018, CSM Dill was selected to assume the full time duties of the Joint Forces Headquarters, G3 Operations Sergeant Major and the M-day duties of the 120th Regional Support Group in Bangor, Maine.
