BRIGADIER GENERAL GEORGE P. CHRISTAKOS

Brigadier General George P. Christakos is assigned as the Assistant Adjutant General for Air, Headquarters Maine Air National Guard. He is responsible for providing continuity and standardization of policies and procedures for the Maine Air National Guard. He also serves as liaison between the Maine Air National Guard and the State Emergency Management Agency and as the principle advisor to The Adjutant General regarding Air National Guard matters.

Brigadier General Christakos began his military career as a Second Lieutenant through Officer Training School in the Air Force in 1963 as a Supply Officer. Following a six year tour of active duty as a Supply Officer, he joined the Maine Air National Guard in 1970. He subsequently held positions as Procurement Management Officer from 1974 to 1975, Supply Management Officer from 1975 to 1976, Resource Plans Officer from 1976 to 1979, and in 1980 Chief of Supply. In April 1980 he was assigned as the Commander of the 101st Resource Management Squadron and in July 1985 the Commander of the 101st Combat Support Squadron. In September 1987 he was assigned Deputy Commander for Support and in 1994 as the Support Group Commander. He assumed his current position as Assistant Adjutant General for Air, Headquarters Maine Air National Guard, on April 14, 1998.
