BRIGADIER GENERAL BRENT M. BOYLES
Brigadier General Brent M. Boyles is the former Assistant Adjutant General - Army, Maine National Guard.Brigadier General Boyles received an appointment to the United States Military Academy in West Point, New York. He was commissioned a second lieutenant from the United States Military Academy where he received a Bachelor of Science with a concentration in applied sciences and engineering in 1979. General Boyles received a Master of Science in Defense Management from American Military University in 1998. He graduated from the United States Army War College in July 2002 and received a second Masters degree in Strategic Studies.
General Boyles began his military career at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Maryland where he attended the Ordnance Officer Basic course followed by attendance at the Basic Airborne course in Fort Benning, Georgia. He
served in several capacities from 1979-1984 at Fort Bragg, North Carolina with the 82nd Airborne Division. General Boyles saw combat action as a Maintenance Company Commander during the 1983 Grenada invasion. Since leaving active duty in May of 1984, General Boyles has been a member of the Maine Army National Guard. He was a member of the 1st Battalion, 152nd Field Artillery where he has served in a variety of positions to include, Commander, Service Battery, Commander, Battery A, Battalion Executive Officer, and Battalion Commander. General Boyles also served as Commander, 121st Public Affairs Detachment, 52nd Troop Command, S-3, Director of Special Staff and Commander, 52nd Troop Command.
