Command Chief Warrant Officer, Maine Army National Guard


CW4 David F. Cheney enlisted in the Maine Army National Guard 9 April 1983 and has served in a variety of positions. He started his career in the Maine Army National Guard as crewman on 155 Cannons in the Field Artillery located in Presque Isle Maine. He attended OCS in 1985 and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in 1986. During his time as a Commissioned Officer he served in all unit level and BN Staff officer positions and attained the rank of Captain. He was appointed as a Warrant Officer 25 July 2000.

As a Warrant Officer CW4 Cheney has two combat deployments. Operation Iraqi Freedom, 2006-2007 and Operation Enduring Freedom in 2009. CW4 Cheney’s current Assignment is the Command Chief Warrant Officer for the MEARNG.

Mr. Cheney’s awards include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters), Army Achievement Medal (with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster), and Numerous Reserve and State Awards

Mr. Cheney and his wife Shari have four children and five grandchildren and have a home in Castle Hill, Maine.
